This deep dive into security & compliance on Google Cloud will show how entities secure their environments on Google Cloud. When you leave this session, you will understand the native Google Cloud controls that customers inherit, as well as the different security & compliance configurations customers implement. We'll cover encryption, networking, access controls, logging, and other controls that map to CSA, and ISO 27001 & 27017.

Speaker Bios:

Dr. Hauke Vagts, Manager, Cloud Security Architects, Google Cloud

Dr. Hauke Vagts is leading the Google Cloud Security & Compliance specialist team for the US East & Canada. Hauke advises Google’s clients on cyber security and helps them to be in compliance with laws and regulations when using Google Cloud. Hauke holds a PhD in computer science from KIT (Germany) and published more than 20 scientific papers on security and privacy, holds security patents in Germany and contributed to the development of the GDPR. Hauke currently lives in New Jersey with his wife and two children.

Devon Beanish, Cloud Security Architect, Google Cloud

Devon is a Cloud Security Architect at Google, helping customers achieve their cloud aspirations securely. He has an extensive background in the telecom industry, driving security outcomes at an enterprise scale. Devon lives in Kelowna, BC, and likes to spend his time in the mountains by a campfire.

Victoria Geronimo, Cloud Security Architect, Google Cloud

Victoria helps customers secure their workloads in Google Cloud. With a legal background, her speciality is translating regulatory and compliance frameworks into technical implementations on the cloud. Outside of work, you can usually find her exploring New York City and its myriad old bookshops.
