2026 AI Governance Research Study Interviews

ISACA is seeking experienced governance professionals to participate in research exploring the evolving role of AI governance in organizations. Participants will share their experiences, challenges, and perspectives on professional development needs and approaches to supporting effective AI governance.

Anticipated Outcomes:

Participants will contribute insights that help ISACA better understand the evolving AI governance landscape, the challenges faced by governance professionals, and the types of professional development resources that may provide value. Findings will inform ISACA's evaluation of potential future offerings and support decisions regarding AI governance education, credentials, and related resources. Additionally, participate in an innovative AI-moderated research experience and provide feedback on a new research methodology currently being evaluated by ISACA.

Volunteer Criteria:
 
Applicants should meet one of the following qualification paths:

• Seven (7) or more years of governance-related professional experience and at least one (1) year of experience with AI governance responsibilities, initiatives, oversight, policy development, risk management, controls, or implementation.
• Be a current CGEIT holder, regardless of whether AI governance is a primary job responsibility.

Additional selection criteria:

• Currently work in a role that involves governance, risk, compliance, audit, technology governance, enterprise governance, cybersecurity governance, data governance, digital governance, AI governance, or a related discipline.
• Have direct experience advising, overseeing, implementing, evaluating, or supporting governance activities within an organization.
• Have awareness of organizational opportunities, challenges, risks, or decision making related to AI adoption, AI oversight, AI risk management, or responsible AI practices.
• Director-level and above are preferred; however, experienced governance professionals with significant governance responsibilities will also be considered. The study seeks participants with substantive governance expertise rather than entry-level experience.
• Diversity of industries, organizational types, geographic regions, and professional backgrounds is desired.
• Both ISACA-certified and non-certified governance professionals are encouraged to apply. The study seeks perspectives from individuals who hold CGEIT as well as those who do not.
• ISACA membership is preferred but not required.
• Must be willing to participate in a single asynchronous online interview lasting approximately 30 minutes and provide candid feedback regarding governance challenges, professional development needs, and AI governance-related topics.

• Contribute to research that may influence how the profession approaches AI governance knowledge, capability building, and professional recognition.
