2021 Emerging Technology Advisory Group

The Emerging Technology Advisory Group will partner with ISACA Global to identify emerging technologies and their application in industry, as well as to support activities required to create the necessary content to address the impact of emerging technology on ISACA, the professions it serves, and ISACA’s constituents. The Emerging Technology Advisory Group will provide advice on when to develop products in support of ISACA’s constituents. New product ideas will be discussed, and products will be prioritized in alignment with ISACA global strategy.

Anticipated outcomes:

The Emerging Technology Advisory Group will support the development and delivery of deliverables designed to serve the needs of ISACA’s constituents and for those who look to join the community. Activities may include:

• Identifying and prioritizing the needs of information and technology professionals engaged in providing enterprise services related to components of enterprise information, IT systems, applications, and
• Analyzing the existing market need for emerging technology learning solutions and services and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
• Identifying and prioritizing the gaps that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and
• Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.

Work will be done primarily by virtual meeting and email. One in-person meeting is anticipated during the term (schedule and location TBD), assuming pandemic related travel and meeting restrictions are lifted.

Volunteer Criteria:

• Current information technology practitioner or technology management role. Expertise and industry representation are preferred over geographic diversity.
• Recently involved in implementation, design, or maintenance of a system utilizing emerging technologies (i.e. Blockchain, AI, 5G, IoT, etc.)
• Understanding the technology market including certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for professionals.
• Knowledge of ISACA services.
• ISACA membership preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel to at least one in-person meeting (schedule, location TBD.)

Volunteer benefits:

• Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
