Description:

The Academic Advisory Group will partner with ISACA staff to identify and support activities to appropriately create the necessary information and content to serve academic institutions who wish to leverage ISACA curriculum. Enhancements to existing products and offers as well as new ideas for development will be discussed and will be prioritized in alignment with ISACA’s overall strategy.  In addition, the Advisory Group members will help facilitate relationship introductions within the academic communities.

Anticipated outcomes:

The Academic Advisory Group will support the development and delivery of deliverables designed to serve the needs of ISACA’s academic partners.

Activities may include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing the needs of academic professionals engaged in providing education to future ISACA constituents.
  • Ideating learning models that addresses the needs of today global learner:
      • Skills gaps
      • Career Readiness
      • Lifelong learners
  • Analyzing the existing market need for academic offerings such as curriculum and supplemental teaching aides and services and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
  • Identifying and prioritizing the gaps that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and
  • Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current academic position such as professor, department chair or dean within the information technology and related disciplines. Appropriate decision making authority, and experience are preferred over geographic diversity.
  • Understanding the academic market including credit and non credit, curriculum development, traditional and blended delivery modules, accreditation and the ability to incorporate certifications where appropriate.
  • Geographic area representation preferred.
  • ISACA membership not required.

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
