Description:

After the successful launch of an audit career tool, ISACA plans to create a similar career development tool for Risk Professionals. The Risk Career Task Force will participate in the obtaining Risk career information such as required skills, typical roles held, Risk Certifications, and potential career path to inform ISACA’s development of a Risk Career Tool.

Anticipated outcomes:

This volunteer opportunity is expected to last approximately 4-6 weeks with weekly one-hour group teleconferences and some independent research to be done between meetings.

Assignments will be divided among the task force members to research between meetings and then discuss as a group during the weekly teleconference. Research could involve gathering and validating information on typical certifications a risk professional would have, the career progression of a risk professional, necessary skill sets, future career paths outside of risk, etc.

All input will be provided to the ISACA Product Management team who will be responsible for the creation of the tool.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current or past Risk Professional
  • Understanding the risk profession including certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for risk professionals.
  • Resident of North America. (International tools to be developed in future phases.)
  • Ability to participate in weekly teleconferences and conduct independent research in preparation of the group call.

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 10 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups, to be claimed at the end of the term upon successful completion of responsibilities.
  • Help Risk Professionals understand their options to make better career decisions in the profession.
