Description:

The ISACA Journal is an electronic and print publication distributed to all ISACA Members six times per year and one of our highest rated member benefits providing timely content related to ISACA’s professional community. All ISACA Journal feature articles are peer reviewed. The Journal article review team is responsible for ensuring that all submissions adhere to the high standards of the Journal and provide members with high-quality practical content and/or thought leadership. Reviewers will have 1-2 weeks to provide feedback on how authors could improve their article to better provide value to Journal readers. The review team is not responsible for editing for style and grammar; rather, reviews should focus on the content, if it is accurate and if it provides value to readers. All reviews are double blind, i.e., reviewers do not know whose article they are reviewing, and authors do not know who reviewed their article.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • ISACA member
  • Must be regular reader of the ISACA Journal
  • Must be able to complete article reviews by the provided deadline or communicate any potential delays to Journal assistant editor
  • Must have demonstrated subject matter expertise in one or all of the following subject matter areas: IS audit, compliance, risk, privacy or security.

Volunteer Benefits:

  • Reviewer names will appear in every issue of the Journal on the Leaders and Supporters page.
  • Those selected to participate can earn continuing professional education (CPE) hours for this opportunity. The number of hours is equal to the amount of time taken to review articles. Volunteers with an ISACA certification(s) must document the time spent reviewing articles and self-claim 1 CPE hour for each hour of active review in the category of “Publication of articles, monographs and books.”

All volunteers must have an ISACA Participation Agreement on file.  To see if your agreement is active, visit your volunteer profile. Access all volunteer policies here.
