Description:

The ISACA Engage online communities offer a virtual platform for ISACA members and individuals within the professional community to seek professional advice, share best practices, learn about new advancements and network. The topic leaders are responsible for ensuring that all discussions are relevant, productive and meet ISACA’s professional conduct standards.

 

Anticipated outcomes:

  • Topic Leaders should be available to respond to inquiries or engage others in finding solutions to their professional needs. Suggestions for maintaining productive engagement include posting questions, sharing articles from ISACA or other public sites and encouraging the exchange of ideas in a professional manner.
  • Topic Leaders should log into their assigned online community a minimum of once per week and should anticipate spending an average of one hour per week reviewing the discussion threads and library uploads.
  • Topic Leaders should understand the community guidelines and report questionable content to ISACA.
  • ISACA offers the following online communities:
    • Audit and Assurance
    • Risk Management
    • Information and Cybersecurity
    • COBIT and Frameworks
    • Governance
    • Emerging Technologies
    • Privacy
    • CISA Certification Exam Prep (must hold certification)
    • CISM Certification Exam Prep (must hold certification)
    • CRISC Certification Exam Prep (must hold certification)
    • CGEIT Certification Exam Prep (must hold certification)
    • SheLeadsTech
    • Rising Professionals

 

Volunteer Criteria/Composition needed:

  • Must already be an active member of the Engage community(ies) you are applying to moderate.
  • Expertise in the appointed community topic area.
  • Ability to engage individuals and maintain discussion threads in a professional manner.
  • Confidence in monitoring content posted in the forum and removing any content deemed unacceptable (e.g. inappropriate language, advertising, potential IP infringement.)
  • Stable internet connection to log into Engage at least once per week.
  • Interest in interacting with individuals from around the world, sharing your expertise and seeking advice from colleagues around ISACA.
  • Must make certain aspects of your Engage profile visible to community members. This includes: Name, Certifications, Country, Ribbons, Send Message, Include in Member Roster. Recommended profile fields (not required) to make visible include company, title, add as contact, social media links.
  • Active practitioner preferred.
  • For Certification Exam Prep forums, topic leaders must be current certification holders and may not have served in a certification working group or exam item development working group for at least three years prior.

 

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 10 CPE credits (max 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession upon successful completion of the term. Individuals who are not meeting the participation expectations may be removed and will not earn CPE credits.
  • Recognition as a Topic Leader on the community homepage.
  • Digital badge recognizing Topic Leader service on the Engage profile.
