2023 Ransomware White Paper SME Reviewers

Description:

This group of volunteers will participate in the review of a white paper about ransomware, specifically how ransomware can impact an organization.  High-level topics covered in the white paper include the history of the evolution of ransomware, ransomware threat actors, preparation and readiness, ransomware incident response, etc.

 

Anticipated Outcomes:

The volunteers will support the delivery of a white paper on the topic of ransomware by reviewing a draft white paper for technical accuracy.

It is expected that the draft document will be available for review by late January 2023. Volunteer reviewers will have a week or so to complete their reviews and to provide feedback to the ISACA Principal, Infosec Professional Practices. The timeline may adjust depending on production schedule.

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current general knowledge and understanding of ransomware and its effects.
  • Current working technical knowledge of malware.
  • Familiarity with working in or managing IT or Security Operations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts.
  • Geographic area considered for diversity.
  • ISACA membership not required.


Volunteer Benefits:

    • Up to 3 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Contributions to the Profession upon successful completion of the term.
