2019 North America CACS Volunteer Lead

< return to list
Signup Deadline: 14 Jan, 2019
Starts: 12 May, 2019
Ends: 15 May, 2019
Location: Anaheim Convention Center, 800 W Katella Ave., Anaheim, CA 92802 volunteer opportunity location

Description:

Conference volunteers are necessary to facilitate smooth meeting operations and ensure a quality experience for all attendees. The Volunteer Lead of the conference will be solely responsible for overseeing all volunteer operations throughout the course of the event. The Lead will also be the liaison between ISACA staff and the individual volunteers.

This is not a conference shift opportunity. The volunteer lead is not considered a conference attendee and may attend sessions if schedule permits, knowing that there are often unexpected things that come up on site.

Conference volunteer shifts (session monitors, registration, etc.) will be posted in February. If that's how you want to help, check back later to sign up and get your registration discount!

Anticipated outcomes:
The Volunteer Lead will ensure continuity of volunteer services for the event:

  • Send email to all volunteers introducing yourself as the main point of contact during the event.
  • Co‐conduct an on‐site volunteer orientation with ISACA staff on Sunday afternoon before the start of the conference.
  • Arrive early each morning of the conference, check‐in all volunteers and be sure they are in place prior to the start of their shifts.
  • Periodically check that all volunteers remain in place for the duration for their role (specifically prior to the conclusion of each break and meal.)
  • In the case of a volunteer no‐show or last‐minute cancellation, the Volunteer Lead will be responsible for notifying ISACA staff immediately and finding someone to fill that role. If they are unable to find someone to fill the role, the Lead will be responsible to execute the duties of that position.
  • Distribute session room monitor sheets at the beginning of each day and collect completed sheets at the end of each day and submit to ISACA HQ staff.
  • Check‐out each volunteer at the end of their shift and confirm they have fulfilled the role.
  • Handle reasonable requests by session monitors (such as AV assistance, temperature control, etc.)
  • Set up a message group to easily communicate with all onsite volunteers (i.e. What’s App) and respond accordingly or relay necessary messages to ISACA staff.
  • Take some photos of our great volunteers to be recognized on social media.
