Description:

The IT Advisory Group will partner with ISACA Global to identify and support activities required to create the necessary information technology and related content to develop products in support of those new to information technology as well as ISACA’s core constituents. New product ideas will be discussed, and products will be prioritized to align with ISACA global strategy.

Anticipated outcomes:

The IT Advisory Group will support ISACA by providing guidance and advice around the development and release of deliverables designed to serve the needs of those who are seeking a career in IT or for those newly entering information technology professions.

Activities may include:

  • Identifying and prioritizing the needs of IT professionals engaged in the enterprise support some components of IT systems, software development, applications, infrastructure, data management, and cybersecurity.
  • Identifying ways that ISACA can reach new IT professionals
  • Analyzing the existing market need for information and technology related products and services and identifying ISACA’s position in the market.
  • Identifying and prioritizing the gaps that can be uniquely filled by ISACA frameworks, knowledge products, education, and
  • Identifying areas where ISACA can benefit from collaborative development activities, partnerships or other relationships and recommend third parties for consideration.

Work will be done primarily by virtual meeting and email. One in-person meeting is anticipated during the term (schedule and location TBD.), assuming pandemic related travel and meeting restrictions are lifted.

 

Volunteer Criteria:

  • Current position that has responsibility for IT industry representation, students or recent graduates in IT disciplines are preferred over geographic diversity.
  • Understanding the IT market including certifications and sources of knowledge currently available for IT professionals.
  • Knowledge of ISACA frameworks, products, certifications and services.
  • Knowledge of enterprise needs for skills and competencies required for newly hired, entry-level IT staff.
  • ISACA membership preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to travel to at least one in-person meeting (schedule, location TBD.)

Volunteer benefits:

  • Up to 20 CPE credits (max. 20 annually) in the area of Working on ISACA Boards/Committees/Working Groups upon successful completion of the term.
