Gary's Bio:
Garry is a trusted advisor with more than 30 years of experience helping business leaders navigate governance, cyber and information security, risk, and assurance across a wide range of industries. With a career spanning the finance sector, public service, and high-level government advisory roles, he brings strategic insight and technical expertise to every engagement.
In 2002, Garry founded the NSW Cyber Security Community of Practice which continues to thrive today. He is a sought-after speaker and trainer, accredited to deliver ISACA’s certification programs and PECB’s ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer course. A committed mentor, he has played active roles in ISACA’s SheLeadsTech and One In Tech initiatives since their inception.
A lifelong contributor to the ISACA community, Garry has volunteered since 2003 in roles ranging from International Vice President and Treasurer to Sydney Chapter President and Chair of the CISM Certification Committee. His exceptional service has earned him numerous honours, including the ISACA Hall of Fame, two ISACA President’s Awards, the Tony Hayes Award for Oceania leadership, and the NSW Premier’s Gold Award.
