Overview: Struggling to justify turning off SMS as an MFA method on your accounts? Getting confused by the different MFA methods we are presented with? This talk will look at what accounts should we use the different MFA methods to effectively mitigate risks of account compromise and persistent access. We will cover moving beyond just two forms of Authentication ie User name & password plus MFA code. This talk will equip you to explain MFA methods to a non technical executive audience.
Speaker: Jay is an experienced cyber GRC professional with over 6 years of experience across many government agencies. Her passion is in explaining the technical aspects of security risk and establishing strong governance over security. As a security nerd from an engineering background she’s happy to unpack the nitty gritty and explain it to different audiences. Jay holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from Victoria University of Wellington where she looked at running effective cybersecurity awareness campaigns for organisations. She is regularly involved in different security forums in NZ, sharing ideas around GRC and Enterprise Security Architecture.
