Special Agent (SA) Tim Simon, FBI and Victim Coordinator (VC) Carmen Kucinich, FBI
Tim is the agent coordinator of the West Michigan Based Child Exploitation Task Force, a multi-jurisdictional task force responsible for investigating human trafficking and crimes against children. Tim and Carmen will be presenting on the task force’s work regarding human trafficking.
Edward Primeau and Michael Primeau
Forensic experts Edward and Michael Primeau perform assignments from a strategic and unbiased perspective due to their ability to understand the relevance of the evidence for investigators, attorneys, and law enforcement/government agencies.
In this two-part session, they will teach their audiences about the intersection of scientific analysis and the role that forensic analysis of digital media recordings can play in an investigation. Edward and Michael will also present their secrets to investigative technique with audio, video, and image recordings. In addition, they will share tools and techniques they have acquired from the field as well as from formal training.
Part 1: Edward Primeau will discuss the digital media forensic industry, the role of a digital media expert witness in court, the role video evidence plays in court, as well as share case studies from his 35-year practice.
Part 2: Michael Primeau will present best practices, scientific methodology, freeware programs on real cases in digital media forensic investigations such as enhancement, authentication, recovery, and comparison investigations from a technician’s perspective.
Not only will they share their expertise with the audiences, they will present tangible applications of forensic analysis and how it can benefit investigation and litigation.
Davenport University, Madonna University, and Northern Michigan University will be hosting the physical locations for the meeting. All six meeting locations will be technologically connected to form one meeting. Please sign up to attend at the most convenient location for you. This meeting is open to non-members.
