Brief History
Welcome to the ISACA Windhoek Chapter web site. ISACA Windhoek Chapter was officially launched in March 2016 (See insert picture). Since commencement we have seen a steady growth in ISACA professionals (i.e. growth in number of CISA, CISM, CGEIT & CRISK) certifications in Namibia.
The growth of these professions has greatly contributed to Namibia through the knowledge and skills that these professionals bring to both public and private sectors.
However, we are still far from where we need to be, and our role as a chapter is to participate and engage with all groups and stakeholders in order to tackles challenges and pursue opportunities for the betterment of Namibia as whole.
Goals & Objectives
The aim of our Chapter is to promote and elevate the visibility of the IT audit, risk, governance, control and security throughout Namibia. This will be done through the following:
1) To promote the education of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of Namibia ISACA members in the fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, governance, control and assurance.
2) To encourage an open exchange of IT governance, IS audit, security, control, and assurance techniques, approaches, and problem solving.
3) To promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in IT governance, IS audit, security, governance, control and assurance that can be of benefit to them and their employers and Namibia as a whole.
4) To communicate to management, auditors, universities, and to IS professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure proper IT governance and the effective organization and utilization of IT resources
5) To promote the Association’s professional certifications in Namibia
6) To encourage networking with other professionals in related professional areas; an
7) To help members improve on various skills including researching, presentations and teamwork.
To achieve the above we rely on the participation of all our Chapter Members. If you are not yet a member we encourage you to join ISACA Windhoek Chapter. Members will have access to various resources that enhance their skills, expand their professional knowledge and connect them with a vibrant community of peers.
