The US Department of Defense (DOD) reported that by fiscal year 2026, all new United States DOD contracts will contain Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program requirements. Since the original announcement, additional details have emerged on the five levels of certification that vendors must meet to be awarded contracts.
