Presentation Summary: Risk management frameworks manage the risks we can usually foresee. However, what presents some of the most significant threats we rarely plan for are those things beyond the horizon. Learn about strategic foresight techniques, why they are essential for mitigating risks that are otherwise difficult to foresee, and how understanding these techniques can help risk professionals message more effectively to senior management.

Over his 35-year career, Andrew Micone has been a researcher for DARPA at Space and Naval warfare, worked as a Research Associate of Don Norman at the UCSD Media Lab, and been a veteran of several early cycle Internet startups. He is currently the Security Operations Manager at Clearwater Analytics and a Futurist at TechCast, a George Washington University Institute of Public Policy project.
