Speaker Biography
David is an experienced IT auditor. David started IT audit with the Commonwealth Bank in the early 1990s. He has lived and worked in Asia, North America, Europe and Australia leading IT audit teams. His experience in IT audit covers both internal audit and external audit and in his early days he even dabbled in the more technical side of IT audit developing scripts for Unix, programming on mainframes and configuring Windows NT 4. In his more than 20 years he has seen a major shift in his clients where they housed large computing environments in-house to some operating almost entirely in the cloud.
Presentation
David’s presentation this evening is on Achieving Assurance in a Cloud Environment. David is going to take us through his approach to providing audit assurance where clients have adopted cloud technologies. We will see some different places from which you can obtain assurance and ways to review the documents that provide assurance, so that when you need to provide comfort to management that cloud environments are being effectively controlled you can provide that assurance to management.
