Creating (and Keeping) an Information Security Culture with Steven Ross

When:  Mar 16, 2022 from 08:30 to 17:15 (ET)
Associated with  Central Florida Chapter

We are happy to welcome back Steven Ross to present our next great event.

Information Security does not exist in a vacuum. It is part of a corporate culture that determines assumptions, expectations, behaviors and, more generally, ways of doing things that affect the security of information resources within organizations. The Information Security function must shape the culture to be one that is intentionally respectful of the importance of information to the organization’s mission.

This one-day seminar/workshop presents practical measures to move the attitudes of senior and middle management, along with working staff, towards an effective Information Security Culture. Through the use of a case study that runs through the course, participants have the chance to learn concepts and immediately put them into action.

This workshop will cover the following:

• How to recognize the current state of their Information Security Cultures

• How to identify shortcomings in the Culture…and repair them

• The ways an Information Security Culture fits within enterprises and society

• The benefits of an Information Security Culture and the inhibitors to achieving one

• How to overcome the inhibitors

• How to build a positive brand for Information Security

• Using current Information Security events to reinforce an Information Security Culture

• Ways to maintain an Information Security Culture

Up to 8 CPE hours will be awarded for this workshop
