You need me to do what? 54 years of computing, comms and security

Peter Wood FBCS CITP CISSP MCIIS

Partner and Lead Consultant, Naturally Cyber LLP

Pete is an old friend of the Chapter and has spoken on a number of occasions at Chapter events during the Chapter’s 30 years. Pete is a recognised leader in the information/cyber security industry and has many tales to tell. If you have heard Pete speak, you before you already know we are in for a treat. If you haven’t heard Pete speak, then you need to come along to find out what you have been missing!

Pete will take us on a whistle-stop tour through Peter Wood’s five decades in computing, communications, and security. Pete will talk about some of his more unusual experiences, including installing systems in Poland during the cold war, the challenges of electronic airline systems at Gatwick, the early adoption of local area networks in business, and the first ISP in Brighton. He’ll also explain why he had to patch a live operating system in hex by telephone, paint dozens of Commodore PETs bright orange, and write 6502 machine code for sharing a hard disk. This lively discussion should stir up some fond memories for those who have been in the industry for a few decades, and provide education and amusement for the younger members of the audience.
