Simon Newman Police Digital Security Centre and Mark Saville Data2Vault Simon will provide an overview of what the Police are currently seeing, as cyber-crime continues to be a major threat to the UK economy, with half of all businesses having suffered at least one cyber-attack or breach in the past 12 months. With ransomware becoming an increasingly favoured tactic of cyber-criminals, is it something we should all be worried about or is it just another scare story? In this session, we’ll be looking at what the data tells us and what we can learn from the USA.
Mark will then give some insight of the ransomware gangs, who are becoming more sophisticated is the techniques they use, increasingly targeting cloud data. Reliable recovery is possible if the right preparation is in place.
Mark will explain how and what needs to be done to minimise this growing and concerning risk.
