Title : “Protecting Your Data ” by Monica Kay Royal
Brief Intro :
It is not surprising that every company is becoming more data driven these days.
What might be a surprise to some is that it is our responsibility to understand how to
protect that data. This session will cover the best practices everyone should be aware
of to help protect both company and personal data from threats and/or misuse.
Specifically we will review protection techniques throughout the data lifecycle including
collection, preprocessing, sharing, storage, and disposal.
Speaker Bio :
Monica Kay Royal has over a decade of experience and fun origin story on how she
became a data professional. She has degrees in Accounting and Management
Information Systems which led to a career in auditing, specifically in the space of
Security Risk and Compliance. She found this to be an exciting niche and started
exploring the crossover of audit, data, and analytics where she found her passion for
continuous learning and data security. Monica created nerdnourishment as a platform
to share her knowledge and resources in hopes to inspire others to learn and grow in
the field of data.

Title : “Alteryx: Analytics for All! (Including Internal Audit!)” by Michael Keiffer ,CPA, CIA, CISA, CTA, ACDA .
Brief Intro:
This presentation is going to show how Alteryx can be used by Internal Audit as a data
analysis tool and I will demonstrate how Alteryx can read multiple date sources, how it
can perform basic audit analytic tasks such as duplicate payments, analysis of
accounts receivables and general ledger testing.  I will also demonstrate some
significant advantages of Alteryx compared to other data analytics tools such as ACL
and IDEA.  I will also demonstrate how Alteryx is fairly simple to use and it does not
require any coding skills to automate Alteryx.
Speaker Bio :
Michael is an independent data analysis consultant with extensive experience with
using ACL (Audit Command Language) and IDEA, both as a data analysis consultant
and as an instructor. Michael has over 18 years of extensive experience with using
ACL and IDEA as data-mining tools, data analysis consulting and training experience,
and with a focus on using both tools as fraud detection and compliance tool for
various financial and healthcare institutions.
