Speaker
:  Kelly Madla, CPA, CGMA


Kelly is a Senior Manager with Stinnett & Associates and is based in San Antonio. She has 23 years of accounting and audit experience with significant knowledge of several industries including oil and gas, retail, universities, telecom, airline, and service.

Currently, Kelly is managing several internal audits for a Fortune 500 company and a private university. She has also worked directly with various companies’ Board of Directors and Audit Committees to present audit results and address specific concerns of the members.

As an audit professional, Kelly has completed financial statement audits; assisted clients in implementing Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements; worked on OMB A-133 audits; designed and executed internal control testing procedures; assisted with taking a company public through the issuance of public debt and equity; completed internal audit and special project reviews; researched a variety of accounting topics; performed risk assessment analyses; and worked closely with IT groups to complete IT audits. Kelly also has experience auditing 401(k) and pension plans and has worked closely with clients to identify and implement 401(k) process improvements.

Prior to joining Stinnett, Kelly was a Manager in the Assurance division of Ernst & Young. During her eight years in public accounting, she performed audits of public, private, and governmental entities as well as various types of benefit plans. Prior to Ernst & Young, Kelly worked in the Inventory Accounting Department at Valero Energy Corporation for two years.

Kelly has Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance as well as a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Kelly is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is a member of the AICPA, the San Antonio Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
