Topic Synopsis
:
Prioritizing Vulnerability Remediation: Risk-Based Approach to Vulnerability Management.
In the era of threat disclosure overload, with the sheer volume of new vulnerabilities disclosed daily, the traditional approach to vulnerability remediation based on critical/high/medium/low severity have become a daunting task. Organizations often get overwhelmed with prompt vulnerability patch management given the limited staff and resources at hand.
Adopting a vulnerability management program that correlates risk analysis with asset value, the severity of the vulnerabilities and use of threat intelligence to help prioritize the vulnerability remediation to significantly reduce the attack surface of the organization.
What will you learn from this session?
• Key Challenges to Vulnerability Management
• Traditional Approach versus Risk-Based Approach
• Workflow for Risk-Based Vulnerability Management
• Leveraging Technologies and automation for better prioritization
