Notice of 2024-25 ISACA Atlantic Provinces Chapter Board of Directors Elections
Nomination process
You have the opportunity to influence the future of our chapter by applying directly to our Board of Directors, the governing group that defines strategy and innovation for our local professional community.
What It takes
To be eligible, applicants must either be a current ISACA member or join ISACA if selected to serve. Board directors are expected to attend four virtual meetings a year and the AGM. In addition, they should also plan to spend about 5-10 hours a month on Board-related activities, including committee participation. Please consider these commitments before submitting a nomination.
The Board expects that Directors will possess the following attributes associated with effective governance:

- Informed judgement

- Financial literacy
- Mature confidence
- Diversity and inclusion awareness
- High-performance standards
- Commitment to The Mission
Duties and responsibilities
The Board's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Represent the collective interests of the chapter's members.
- Provide governance and oversight of the chapter’s ethical culture, strategy, performance and financial reporting, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Exercise its authority directly or through committees of the Board.
- Abide by and support ISACA's Code of Professional Ethics.
- Leverage professional networks in support of ISACA.
- Maintain a local perspective on professional issues and ISACA matters.
Expectations for performance
The Board also seeks individuals who have diverse backgrounds, are recognized leaders in their respective fields, and have the potential to make a significant contribution to our goals.
As a director, you are expected to:
- Attend all meetings.
- Prepare for meetings by reading the materials provided and conducting additional research as necessary.
- Participate actively in Board discussions, providing information and views relevant to the subjects discussed.
- Respect the confidentiality of all Board deliberations and company materials.
Board of Director Positions
The following 2-year term positions are open for applications:
- President – Current President, Jared Gordon is at the end of his final term.
- Marketing
- Director at Large (Nova Scotia)
- Director at Large (NFLD)
- Director at Large (NB)
- Director at Large (Academics)
- Membership
If any existing board members are applying for a different role and are successful, the role they vacated will be filled in a subsequent election to be held in July.
Key Dates
· Due May 31 – Email events@isaca-atlantic.ca indicating your interesting in running for the board. Please include:
o A few paragraphs about your self and why you are running for a position on the board. Remember, this information is what members will use to determine if they will vote you to the board. Remember to sell your experience and vision for the board or the position you are applying for.
o Include picture (optional)
o Indicate you approve the information provided for marketing purposes for the election.
o Indicate you are a member in good standing and your ISACA ID.
· June 3 – Applicants will be sent board policies, conflict of interest, willingness to serve to confirm there will be no issues if they are elected.
· June 13th – A list of members applying to the board and their application submissions will be sent to all members.
· June 17th – 24th – Electronic Voting will be held and closed prior to the AGM.
· June 25th – Successful candidates will be announced at the AGM.
