May 16, 2024 CPE Event - Annual General Membership (AGM) and CPE Meeting

We are excited to announce our Annual General Membership (AGM) meeting! Members, please join us for our annual business meeting and CPE sessions. 
 
Time and Location: Thursday, May 16th, Cottonwood Grille River Room at 913 W River St, Boise (or via Zoom)
 
Please Note: The Zoom session will start at 12:30PM.  
 
Agenda:
11:30 – 12:30: Lunch/Networking 
12:30 – 1:00: AGM Meeting (scholarships, existing board members, elections, member recognition)
1:00 – 3:00: CPE Sessions
3:00 – 4:30: Happy Hour/Networking (2 drinks per member)
 
Lunch: Boise Chapter members and presenters can choose from one of the following provided lunches:
 
  • FLANK STEAK – Flank steak grilled medium then sliced, finished with béarnaise sauce and served with garlic mashed Idaho potatoes and vegetable du jour.

  • COTTONWOOD COBB – Crisp romaine with diced roast turkey, bacon, egg, black olives, Roma tomatoes, carrots, avocado and bleu cheese.

  • VEGETABLE RIGATONI – Sun dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, cremini mushrooms, artichoke hearts and fresh basil cream tossed with tube shaped, pasta, baked with provolone and parmesan cheeses (chicken optional).

  • CHICKEN RAVIOLI – Roasted chicken and cremini mushrooms sautéed with roasted garlic, finished in a creamy Gorgonzola sauce, served with three cheese ravioli.
 
Dessert: Berry cobbler, crème brûlée, or chocolate brownie.

Presentation Topic: Friend and Foe: AI's Role in Cybersecurity
Speaker: Dan DeCloss
Speaker Bio: Dan DeCloss is the Founder and CTO of PlexTrac and has 20 years of experience in Cybersecurity. Dan started his career in the Department of Defense and then moved on to the private sector where he worked for various companies including Telos, Veracode, Mayo Clinic, and Anthem. Dan's background is in application security and penetration testing, involving hacking networks, websites, and mobile applications for clients. Prior to PlexTrac, Dan was the Director of Cybersecurity for Scentsy where he and his team built the security program out of its infancy into a best-in-class program.
Dan has a master’s degree in computer science from the Naval Postgraduate School with an emphasis in Information Security. Additionally, Dan holds the OSCP and CISSP certifications. Speaker: Brandon Ashley

Speaker Bio: Brandon started his career as a firmware developer and architect at HP in Boise, later moving to Boeing in Seattle as information security professional. He is passionate about helping companies protect their customers and their businesses in a world of ever-increasing cyber threats and evolving regulatory landscapes. Brandon lives outside Boise, Idaho with his 3 dogs. He enjoys outdoor activities such as backpacking, hunting and downhill skiing.  He is also passionate about anything aviation related and is pursuing his private pilot’s license.
