Kurt has spent more than fifteen years of his career in the FBI’s Counterintelligence and Cyber Divisions working cases that protected national security. His primary focus has been state-sponsored Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) intrusions cases that included cross-jurisdictional cooperation at all levels of government. From 2010-2012, Kurt was assigned to FBI Headquarters as a Supervisory Special Agent in the Cyber Division, where he coordinated and led multiple teams that investigated and mitigated various APT threats. He received the FBI Director’s Award for Excellence and the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service for the groundbreaking case against the five 3PLA hackers charged with economic espionage in 2014. From 2013-2017 Kurt severed as the Assistant Legal Attaché in London representing the FBI on cyber national security matters. He is currently a Special Agent working Cyber and Counterintelligence matters for the FBI in Boise, Idaho.
