Strengthening Software Resilience in the UK

Jonathan Burgher, Policy Advisor, Cyber Resilience, DSIT (formally DCMS)

The security of software used by organisations is an ever-increasing risk for organisations around the world. In the last three years, there has been a 742% global average annual increase in observed software supply chain attacks. This includes tens of thousands of smaller-scale incidents, and well-known attacks such as those against SolarWinds (2020), or recent disruption to our National Health Service’s IT Systems (2022).

In order to better understand the nature of software risks to UK organisations, and where government should focus on mitigating them, the new Department for Science, Innovation and Technology published a call for views on software resilience and security. Published on 6 February, this call for views looks at software risks across the breadth of the software lifecycle.

Jonathan will share DSIT’s experiences and thoughts on software security and resilience and discuss DSIT’s Call For Views on software resilience and security for organisations and businesses. It is a great opportunity for those of us on the front line to share our experiences and views, and help inform the government where it should focus on mitigating risks.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Please note, for those members who hold an ISACA certification, attendance for the full session provides 1 CPE.
