Thank you to everyone who joined us in-person in Livonia or virtually via Zoom! It was great to see our community back together for an evening of insightful presentations, networking, and professional development.

Featured Presentation: NIST AI Framework

With AI reshaping both the threat and defense landscape, Naras introduced attendees to the essentials of the NIST AI Framework. He provided valuable guidance on how to practically apply this complex standard within audit, cybersecurity, and risk work. The session offered clear direction for professionals aiming to assess and manage AI-driven risks.

Networking & Dinner

Following the first session, in-person attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner and the chance to connect with fellow professionals during a dedicated networking break.

Second Presentation: Cybercrime Psychology & Behavior

Speaker: Dr. Tom Holt, Professor – Michigan State University

Dr. Holt presented his latest research on the behavioral science behind cybercrime. His session explored the links between gaming, impulsivity, peer influence, and various cyber-offenses like malware use, unauthorized access, and DDoS attacks — all within a Dutch population under age 30. This thought-provoking talk offered a fresh look at the human side of cyber threats.
