Faith Wawira Nyaga, CISM, is a distinguished public-sector ICT leader driving digital transformation, ICT governance, cybersecurity, and digital public infrastructure in Kenya. Recognized by CIO Africa among the Top 45 Most Influential Women in Digital Transformation in Africa (2023–2024), she is passionate about leveraging technology to strengthen public institutions, enhance service delivery, and create sustainable impact.
She currently serves as Ag. Deputy Director – ICT at the Water Resources Authority (WRA), where she leads the design and implementation of secure, data-driven digital systems that support water resource governance, institutional efficiency, and citizen-centric public service delivery. Her work spans enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, digital platforms, geospatial technologies, data analytics, and the responsible adoption of emerging technologies to enable evidence-based decision-making across the public sector.
Faith is a recognized leader in technology governance and digital trust through her extensive involvement with ISACA. She currently serves as Chapter Secretary of ISACA Kenya Chapter and is a member of the ISACA Global SheLeadsTech Advisory Group as well as the Membership and Communications Committee. Through these leadership roles, she contributes to advancing digital trust, professional development, and community engagement across the global ISACA ecosystem.
Previously, she served on the ISACA Kenya Chapter Board as Director-at-Large (Special Programs), where she championed diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the digital profession. She played a key role in establishing and scaling ISACA International Student Groups across universities, strengthening pathways for students and early-career professionals to enter cybersecurity, audit, governance, and digital trust careers.
Her governance experience extends beyond ISACA through service on several boards and advisory bodies. She serves as a Board Member of the Swedish Alumni Network in Kenya, a Board Member at Scratch and Script, and a member of the Impartiality Committee at Certi-Trust, where she contributes to promoting ethical assurance, impartiality, and trust within certification and digital ecosystems.
Faith holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Kenyatta University. She is also a Fellow in Cohort 4 of the Public Sector Leadership Programme at the Centre for a Reimagined Africa under the African Leadership University. As a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), she possesses extensive expertise in information security governance, enterprise risk management, cybersecurity leadership, and digital resilience—capabilities that are critical to building secure, trustworthy, and future-ready digital government systems.
Throughout her career, Faith has remained committed to advancing digital inclusion, developing future technology leaders, and harnessing innovation to solve complex public-sector challenges. Her leadership continues to shape the intersection of technology, governance, and public value across Africa.
