Guest Speaker - Stevens Fox, WA State Deputy CISO
Bio: Stevens Fox leads Governance, Risk, and Compliance for the State of Washington. His background includes learning how to break systems as a penetration tester, using that knowledge to protect organizations as a security architect, and managing GRC and audit practices in the private and public sectors.
Deconstructing Supply Chain Risk
Session description: Security leaders acknowledge that supply chain risks exist. They attempt to brace their organizations against a poorly understood tempest but are frustrated when assailed.
This session deconstructs supply chain risk into two components:
Infrastructure: This is the IT and service environment which supply chain factors act on.
Value Chain: This is the flow of interactions between users/data and the Infrastructure component that generates value for both the consumer and third parties.
Session attendees will learn how to analyze supply chain risks by overlaying these models and understanding their interactions. This analyses will inform identification of risks and actionable risk treatment choices. It will also facilitate communication with internal stakeholders and with 3rd party partners.
