ABOUT OUR CHAPTER

The Northwest Ohio (NWO) ISACA Chapter is ISACA's 188^th chapter and was formed in 2006.  ISACA was formerly known as the EDP Auditors Association, having formed in Los Angeles in 1969.  Chicago became the site of ISACA's 2nd chapter in 1972 and is now the global headquarters for ISACA.  The year our chapter was formed also marked the year that ISACA adopted its acronym as its formal name, and the year that ISACA established its Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) credentialing.  ISACA now has 223 chapters in 97 countries. 

Currently our chapter is made up of approximately 117 members (6 student members) with most members holding at least one ISACA certification among many other certifications.  Members with ISACA certifications currently:

• CGEIT - 1
• CISA - 54
• CISM - 13
• CRISC - 14
• CSX Fundamentals (exam passers) - 2

• Platinum Members (15+ years) – 18
• Gold Members (10 – 14 years) – 23
• Silver Members (5 – 9 years) – 28
• Bronze Members (3 – 4 years) - 21

The Chapter has an area of reach/radius of about 50 miles.  Below is a map to show where our current members are located.

Despite our small size when compared to other ISACA chapters, NOW has several points of pride/distinctions/strengths, among them …

• Corporate sponsorship of our training sessions/programs
• Great speakers/presenters at Chapter meetings
• Strong synergies with sister organizations such as The Institute of Internal Auditors
• Strong student participation in Chapter events

The chapter holds monthly meetings from September through May and participates in or sponsors other activities that benefit our members.
