About the AGM & Conference (2024)

The ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter held its annual AGM and CPE event in-person hosted in the Desmarais building (room 1130) in partnership with the Association of Enterprise Architects (AEA). The event included a complimentary lunch followed by a brief AGM and elections, and then three presentations on Artificial Intelligence:

  • Delivering a GOOD AI Society - The governance of AI and AI for Governance (and Audit), presented by Nour El Kadri, professor of Innovation and Strategic Management, Governance, and Artificial Intelligence at the university of Ottawa
  • Generative AI in the Government of Canada, presented by Benoit Deshaies, Director of Responsible Data and AI at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
  • Harnessing AI for Project Management: Insights and Future Trends in North America, presented by Temisan Sagay, program manager at the Capital Friends Network.

The event was free of charge to ISACA members and members of other professional associations, including the AEA, PMI, FMI, IIA, and IIBA. All participants received 4 CPEs for their attendance.

Following the presentations there was a complimentary catered social event at the Waverley restaurant from 4:30-6:30pm.

Biography

Nour El Kadri

Nour El Kadri is a professor of Innovation and Strategic Management, Governance, and Artificial Intelligence. He carries out courses for both the Telfer School of Management Executive MBA programs, Digital Transformation Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Professor El-Kadri is an expert on Artificial Intelligence, governance and Ethics. He is a member of the experts on call at the university of Ottawa and is a regular commentator on radio, TV and other media outlets on matters pertaining to Canadian politics, business and technology.

Benoit Deshaies

Benoit Deshaies is at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) within the Canadian government. As the Director of Responsible Data and AI at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, he leads the charge in crafting and implementing responsible AI governance frameworks. Among others, his team publishes the Guide on the use of generative AI, providing civil servants and federal institutions with insights to effectively leverage this technology while managing potential challenges.

Temisan Sagay

Temisan Sagay is a seasoned Technical Program Manager with over 15 years of experience. Temisan holds an MBA and multiple certifications, including PMP. Temisan has contributed to various publications, including "Artificial Intelligence and Project Management 2023: A Chapter Led Project", "Artificial Intelligence and Project Management: Empirical Overview, State of the Art, and Guidelines for Future Research" and "Navigating AI in Project Management: The New Chapter-Led Report.
