About the AGM & CPE Event (2025)
The ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter held its annual AGM and CPE event in-person hosted in the Faculty of Social Sciences Building (Room 1007) in partnership with the Association of Enterprise Architects (AEA). The event included a complimentary lunch followed by a brief AGM and elections, and then three presentations on cyber security from state sponsored cyber threats.
Presenters:
- Nour El Kadri, Professor of Innovation and Strategic Management, Governance, and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Ottawa
- Robert Gordon, Strategic Advisor, Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX)
- Sami Khoury, Government of Canada Senior Official for Cyber Security, Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSE)
The event was free of charge to ISACA members and members of other professional associations, including the AEA, PMI, FMI, IIA, and IIBA. All participants received 5 CPEs for their attendance.
Following the presentations there was a complimentary catered social event at the Waverley restaurant (339 Elgin St) from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

Nour El Kadri
|
Nour El Kadri is a professor of Innovation and Strategic Management, Governance, and Artificial Intelligence. He carries out courses for both the Telfer School of Management Executive MBA programs, Digital Transformation Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Professor El-Kadri is an expert on Artificial Intelligence, governance and Ethics. He is a member of the experts on call at the university of Ottawa and is a regular commentator on radio, TV and other media outlets on matters pertaining to Canadian politics, business and technology.

Robert Gordon
|
Bob is the Strategic Advisor of the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX), Canada’s private sector organization for the sharing and analysis of cyber threat information and enabling collaboration across all sectors. Most recently, Bob was the Executive Director of the CCTX. Prior to this, he was a Director, Global Cyber Security at CGI. Bob also enjoyed a long and successful career in the Federal Government, that included being the architect of Canada’s first Cyber Security Strategy.

Sami Khoury
|
Sami Khoury serves as the Government of Canada Senior Official for Cyber Security, providing cyber security expert advice and guidance to deputy ministers and senior officials across the Government of Canada. This role, with Sami’s extensive experience and knowledge, is critical to safeguarding Canada’s digital infrastructure and advancing our national security interests. Previous to this, Sami was the Head of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (Cyber Centre) from 2021 to 2024. The Cyber Centre is the primary source of expert advice, guidance, services, and support on cyber security for government entities, critical infrastructure owners and operators, the private sector, and the Canadian public. Sami embarked on his career at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) in 1992, initially as a research engineer specializing in the impact of emerging multimedia communications technologies. Over the years, he has held various operational and leadership roles.

Event Sponsorship
The ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter will be hosting an in-person conference on Friday, June 13, 2025 at a speaking venue at the University of Ottawa. We are seeking sponsors for the event from both public and private sector organizations.
About the Event
Approximately 100 cybersecurity and audit professionals will gather to hear presentations from speakers from academia, the private sector, and government on the topic of cybersecurity from state-sponsored hacking. The event will have a keynote presentation from Sami Khoury, Government of Canada Senior Official for Cyber Security. Attendees will receive catered lunch and snacks, have the opportunity to view booths and printed materials, and the event will conclude with a hosted reception at a local restaurant.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Opportunities for up to one sponsorship partner at the platinum level and and three sponsorship partners at the gold level are available. Depending on the tier, sponsors can display their logo on our conference webpage and Eventbrite page, have dedicated space in the conference program, hold a booth during the event, and the platinum sponsor will have an opportunity for a 10 minute presentation to attendees.
