The primary purpose of the Chapter is to promote the education of individuals for the improvement and development of their capabilities relating to the auditing of and/or management consulting in the field of Information Systems (IS) audit and control. 

OBJECTIVES

  • To promote the education of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of its members in the interrelated fields of auditing, quality assurance, security, and IS audit and control
  • To encourage a free exchange of IS audit and control, quality assurance, and security techniques, approaches, and problem solving by its members
  • To promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in IS audit and control, quality assurance, and security fields that can be of benefit to them and their employers
  • To communicate to management, auditors, universities, and to IS professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure the effective organization and utilization of Information Technology (IT) resources

  • CommunITy Volunteer Day

    When: Saturday, October 7th
     
    Where: Anywhere Locally or Online
     
    Why: To give back to our local communities and advance digital trust!
    Description: We added 3 volunteer activities/opportunities for our members to get information on and sign up for via "Helper Helper"
    Instructions:  Navigate to https://app.helperhelper.com/ > Find Opportunities > After Completion, Submit Attendance Times). This is the app ISACA needs us to validate our activity through after completion
  • CIA Challenge Exam

    As a CISA™ holder, you can take advantage of this limited opportunity to earn the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) designation through an expedited process called the CIA Challenge Exam. This expedited process allows you to obtain the CIA designation after successfully passing the one-part examination. 

    The CIA Challenge Exam only includes content not covered on your CISA™​ exam, saving you time and money.

  • The Academic Relations Team Needs You!

    Key Responsibilities -

    • Assist the Academic Relations Director to Liaise with academic institutions,
    • Assist in establishing opportunities to brief appropriate classes of academic institutions on ISACA, its certifications and IT governance.
    • Help the Academic Relations Director coordinate scholarship initiatives approved by the Chapter Board.
    • Help the Academic Relations Director liaise with appropriate professors, and where appropriate take steps to establish an "Academic Advocate" program in local academic institutions.
    • Assist in establishing a succession plan for the roles of Student President and Vice President at each of the Student Chapters (as student graduate)

    Time Commitment – 

    • On average 1.5 to 3 hours per week, at times travel to the Universities to present and/or facilitate student discussions.

    Specific Areas of Focus in 2023 – 

    • Assist in building out panel discussions, forums, and workshops for the students this coming fall.
    • On-boarding and implementing ISACA Student Programs at the following schools in Arizona.
    • Grand Canyon University
    • University of Advancing Technology, Tempe
    • Maricopa Community Colleges, throughout AZ
    • Embry Riddle, Prescott
    • In addition to ASU, WP Carey Business, Polytech, (looking to go beyond into other ASU colleges/areas as well)
