Event Details: Digital technologies are fundamental to nearly every aspect of business, social interaction, and growth. And yet, failures of privacy, cybersecurity, and transparency are eroding digital trust globally. To preserve the welfare of our online and offline communities, and the sustainability of our organizations, senior decision makers need to make their technologies trustworthy. On the consumer side of the equation, people sometimes struggle to understand what is digital trust, why it’s lacking, and what to do about it. That’s because we tend to think of digital trust as a technology problem or personal problem when it’s not helpful to view it as either of those. We need to treat establishing and maintaining digital trust as we would manage a public health problem and borrow heavily from that playbook. Kip will explain how.

Speaker Bio: Kip Boyle is the fractional Chief Information Security Officer for several companies. A small business owner, his team provides many blue and red team cybersecurity services to their customers. He’s served as a Captain with the F-22 program in the US Air Force. In the private sectors he was a CISO for an insurance company, credit card processor, bank, credit union, and IT Managed Service Provider. Kip is the author of the best-selling “Fire Doesn’t Innovate: The Executive’s Practical Guide to Thriving in the Face of Evolving Cyber Risks”. He lives near Seattle with his wife and six kids.
