Topic 1: Why AI governance is critical for AI safety and what threats does the rise of AI bring

Brief: As a seasoned GRC professional currently specializing in AI Assurance, Alisher's presentation will cover the criticality of AI governance for ensuring AI safety amidst the rapid evolution of AI technologies, especially over the past year. He will discuss how the swift transformation of the business landscape, driven by AI leads to fast adoption of governance frameworks, like NIST AI RMF. Also, while regulations are emerging, like it often happens, the adoption will take time, underscoring the urgent need for governance of AI systems. Having a direct experience with AI day to day, he will highlight the new threat landscape posed by AI, the current approaches to handle them, emphasizing the importance of governance in mitigating these risks and ensuring safe, ethical AI.
