ISACA Springfield, Missouri Chapter

Welcome to the ISACA Springfield Chapter. The aim of the Chapter is to sponsor local educational seminars and workshops, conduct regular chapter meetings, and help to further promote and elevate the visibility of the IS audit, control and security profession throughout the region.

We are dedicated to promoting and advancing the fields of information systems audit, control, and security. Our chapter is committed to provide valuable resources, networking opportunities, and professional development for individuals interested in these critical areas of expertise. Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting in your career, our chapter offers a supportive community where you can learn, frow, and connect with like-minded individuals. Join us as we strive to stay at the forefront of emerging trends, best practices, and industry standards in information systems governance and security.

The association is one of individual members, often the sole practitioner of information systems auditing, security, and/or governance in his or her company. The membership of the ISACA reflects a multiplicity of backgrounds and skills that make the information systems governance field challenging and dynamic.

This chapter is run by volunteers who are ISACA members nominated through ISACA Annual General Meeting (AGM). ISACA members' participations in running the chapter are highly encouraged.

About our President

Dr. Shannon McMurtrey began his teaching career in 2002 at Missouri State University where he was a College of Business research award winner; served as Director of the Computer Information Systems graduate program; and created the Cybersecurity degree programs at both Missouri State and Drury Universities. He was named the 2017 “Security Professional of the Year” by the Association of Information Technology Professionals.

His professional background includes over 25 years of IT experience in the fields of e-commerce, health care technology, and cybersecurity as the founder and co-founder of three companies currently operating in those areas. Dr. McMurtrey has published in the area of artificial intelligence in the United States and Europe and holds several respected industry certifications in network penetration, incident handling, web application security, and industrial control systems.
