Message From Our Chapter President:


Dear Members,

Some of our board members attended the 2022 ISACA North America Conference in New Orleans where our Immediate Past President, Chandra Barnes, received the ISACA Innovative Chapter Program award for our Career Changer Program.BoothPic.jpg We are currently holding in-person exam preparation training for CISA,  and we hope to have more chapter programs and networking events in the coming months.

Chandra Barnes, M.Ed, CISM, CRISC, CDPSE, ITIL  

Immediate Past President

Chandra served as ISACA VA Chapter President from 2019-2021.  She has over 20 years of Information Technology experience across private media/publishing, government, healthcare, and transportation with a focus in IT security program implementation, management, training, operational risk, governance and compliance.  Previously, Chandra managed the Commonwealth of Virginia’s large IT Operations with a staff of 60 diversified professionals in support of statewide services on a 24/7 basis. Currently, she is the Compliance Officer at the Virginia Information Technologies Agency and responsible for managing the Security Regulatory Compliance program.  Chandra holds a Master of Adult Education & Training from Virginia Commonwealth University and has served on the Board in various capacities, including; VP, Director of Certifications and the Certification Review Committee for many years.

Melanie Seigler, CISM, CRISC, CDPSE

President

Melanie has over 30 years of IT experience in federal, state and local government in natural resources, environmental, emergency services, economic development, and transportation.  She has focused on Information Security for the past 10 years developing, implementing and managing Information Security and Risk Management programs for Virginia state agencies.  Melanie currently serves as ISO for Risk Management at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, the agency responsible for issuing millions of driver and vehicle credentials.  Melanie served as the Chapter’s Seminar Director and is currently serving as the VP.

 

Dan Cunningham, CSX

Acting Program Director

Dan has his own company focusing on sensors, Artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning for the industrial market with over 15 years of experience. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.  Dan’s Entrepreneur spirit drives his quest to use Artificial intelligence (Al) techniques to help solve many challenging problems in computer science and technology.  He’s registered as a Professional Engineer and holds ISACA’s “CSX Cybersecurity Fundamentals credential.”

 

Jennifer Fabius, CRISC, CISSP

Secretary

Jenn is a Director in KPMG’s Advisory Services practice with more than 15 years of experience with cyber risk management advisory and IT risk management guidance. She has substantial experience leading and coordinating IT Risk advisory engagements across several industries, with a focus on the policy, technology, and security strategy. She has served as senior risk adviser to intelligence and defense CIOs who spearheaded a U.S. government-wide security transformation initiative. The initiative resulted in a unified information security framework across the federal government. Ms. Fabius holds a Master of Arts in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and CRISC and CISSP professional certifications.

Ed Miller, CIA, CISA, CISM, CIPT, CIPM, ITIL

Membership Director

Ed is the Director of IT Security Governance for VITA.  He has a BS in Accounting and an MBA from Old Dominion University.  He holds professional certifications in Information Security Auditing, Internal Auditing, Information Security Management and IT Privacy Technologies.  Prior to joining VITA, Ed was the Information Security Officer for the Virginia Department of Accounts, the IT Audit Manager for the Virginia Department of Taxation and the Manager of Information Security for Norfolk Public Schools.  Before joining the state, Ed spent 14 years as an IT manager and IT security auditor for a large regional CPA and consulting firm.

Clifton Dickens, CISA, CRISC, CDPSE, GSNA, GISP, GLEG, GSLC

Seminar Director

Cliff has over 25 years of varying IT experience including systems engineering, IT security auditing, and IT asset management. He is passionate about cybersecurity, data privacy, and risk management activities required to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect data and information systems. Clifton has served in roles as an Information Security Officer, Sr. Information Security Analyst, and Senior IT Controls Auditor. His career has spanned the private industry as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Richmond School Board.  An Entrepreneur at heart, Cliff has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Averett University and several professional certifications including CISA, CRISC, CDPSE, as well as SANS Institute certifications; GSNA, GLEG, GISP, GSLC, GSTRT, and GISF.

Deborah Edwards, CISA

Certification Director

Information Technology has been Deborah’s lifelong passion.  She studied it in college and has spent her entire professional career in IT beginning as a developer in the private sector.  She went on to work as a System Administrator and Database Administrator for the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Department of Health.  After doing a brief stint with the Virginia Information Technologies Agency, she moved on to the Auditor of Public Accounts as an IT Auditor.  She continued her audit career with the Virginia Employment Commission.  She switched gears slightly by becoming an Information Security Officer for the Department of the Treasury where she is still employed.  Deborah is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).  She also likes to read, cook, and go to Farmers Markets. 

 

Kevin Page, CISA, PMP  

Research Director

Kevin's work history and experience spans the telecom, K-12, higher education, public and private sector arenas.  He began his career performing project management activities for a growing CLEC (telecommunications) provider in the Richmond area, and quickly grew into business analysis and compliance roles with the company.  From there, he transitioned into IT project management work with Richmond Public Schools and led various enterprise-wide implementations for a 7 year period. Most recently, he leveraged his familiarity with the parallels between PM and information security to assist the Commonwealth of Virginia in developing information security programs for smaller state agencies.  He currently holds a PMP, CISA and ITIL designation.  

 

Erica Bland, CICA

Diversity and Inclusion Director

Erica is a Senior IT Internal Auditor at the Virginia Employment Commission.  She started her career in state government at the Virginia Department of Corrections in 2011.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Norfolk State University.  She has served as the Chair of the Technology Committee and Webmaster for the ISACA Virginia Chapter since 2016.  Erica’s experience with our virtual platform and years of service provides vast insight on the areas to focus our diversity and inclusion efforts.  She enjoys walking, reading, and gardening in her free time.
