  1. - 12:00 Noon: ISACA Presenter: Rob Clyde, Chair of ISACA

Topic: ISACA - Latest Initiatives in support of its members and the profession

ISACA's latest initiatives in support of the audit, assurance, information security, governance and risk management disciplines and how these and ISACA support the members and organisations using them.

About Rob:
ISACA Chair Rob Clyde, CISM, NACD Board Leadership Fellow, is executive chair of the board of directors for White Cloud Security (trusted app list enforcement), and independent board director for Titus (leader in data protection, categorization and classification) (USA). He is the managing director of Clyde Consulting LLC, which provides board and executive advisory services to cyber security software companies. He serves as an executive advisor to HyTrust (multi cloud workload security) and BullGuard Software (consumer and smart home cyber security).

Prior to becoming chair of ISACA’s board of directors, he served as vice-chair, chaired the board-level ISACA Finance Committee and served as a member of ISACA’s Strategic Advisory Council, Conference and Education Board and the IT Governance Institute Advisory Panel.

Previously, he was CEO of Adaptive Computing, which provides workload management software for some of the world’s largest cloud, high-performance computing, and big data environments. Prior to founding Clyde Consulting, he was chief technology officer at Symantec and a co-founder of Axent Technologies. Clyde is a frequent speaker at ISACA, cybersecurity conferences and for the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He also serves on the industry advisory council for the Management Information Systems Department of Utah State University (USA).

We will be trying a partition at the back of the room that will facilitate continuing the lunch and visiting with Rob. If this works well, this will be carried forward to future meetings so that those who are attending only one of the sessions will have more time for lunch and networking.

  1. - 1:00 PM: Luke Aki, Wellington Analytics & Insights Manager for Deloitte NZ Risk Advisory

Topic: Data Analytics: Power Performance and Drive Value

Luke will cover how analytics are being used to support internal audit, and how the combination of both functions can power performance and drive value across the entire business, in a time when stakeholders need more from internal audit as the breadth of risk continues to expand. He will talk about what is possible using a data driven approach to internal audit, and the balance between assurance, advisory and anticipation of future issues, which is something many internal audit functions are working through.

About Luke:
Luke is the Wellington Analytics & Insights Manager for Deloitte NZ Risk Advisory. He is an analytics and reporting specialist with over a decade of experience working in the UK and New Zealand. He helps organisations with developing effective analytics to enable actionable insights, and making improvements to their reporting, business processes, data quality, and performance management.
