During a strategic meeting with the ISACA Accra Chapter President, Mr. Solomon H. H. Ackom, the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, laid out an ambitious roadmap to transform Ghana’s digital ecosystem over the next four years.

A “shred and rebuild” approach to overhaul outdated digital systems
Revision of Ghana’s National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy

📌Restructuring of key legislations:
Electronic Communications Act to empower the NCA with its own framework
Cybersecurity Act to clarify roles between key agencies

📌Introduction of two new legislations:
Data Harmonization Act – centralizing datasets for AI-driven governance
Digital Economy Act – enabling innovation, e-commerce & entrepreneurship

📌Stricter enforcement and hefty penalties for cybersecurity breaches
📌Consumer-focused reforms: 30–50% of fines to compensate affected users
📌New compliance directives for all 135 Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) institutions
