DEC Monthly Meeting Recap

The joint meeting between ISACA and the IIA, held at Tapestry Banquets in Southfield, MI, with an option for remote attendance via Zoom, saw a great turnout both online and in person. Attendees gathered for an informative session covering cybersecurity and secure digital transformation.

The event kicked off with a registration and networking session, allowing attendees to connect and socialize.

Topic #1 - Changes in NIST CSF 2.0: Christian Kon, Director of Cyber Security Services at KPMG, and Kirsten VanderGraaff, Senior Associate in Technology Risk at KPMG, discussed the upcoming changes in NIST CSF 2.0 compared to the original version from 2018. Following the informative session, attendees enjoyed dinner and further networking opportunities and Juman and Eulonda delivered an electrifying performance of "Santa Audit." (Video Below)

Topic #2 - Overview of Secure Digital Transformation: Goran Ristovski, Managing Director of Aerospace and Defense Cyber Leader at Deloitte, led the discussion on Secure Digital Transformation. The presentation covered the integrated approach to adopting cloud technologies while maintaining a strong focus on cybersecurity in areas such as data privacy, network security, application security, compliance, and secure operations. The goal was to help organizations unlock the benefits of digital transformation while safeguarding their assets and data.

The event concluded with a raffle and closing remarks, which were exclusive to in-person attendees, offering a chance to win prizes.

Additionally, the event provided attendees with an opportunity to earn (2) CPEs (Continuing Professional Education credits).

Food Donation: The event's food donation drive was a resounding success, with over $800 in donations received and numerous food items collected. Attendees demonstrated their generosity and community spirit by contributing to this charitable cause.

Overall, the joint meeting witnessed a strong turnout, both online and in person, fostering a conducive environment for learning, networking, and making a positive impact through substantial donations of funds and food items.
