The ISACA Detroit Chapter November 2023 Hybrid Meeting, held at the MSU Management Education Center and online via Zoom on November 15, 2023, was a successful gathering. The event commenced with a session of registration and networking.
The first discussion, led by Brett Sommers and Austin Shepherd from Onspring, was titled "Crossing Your T’s and Dotting Your I’s: How Strong GRC Can Benefit your TPRM / Vendor Risk Management Program." They highlighted the critical importance of thoroughness in TPRM & Vendor Risk Management and how a comprehensive approach to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) is essential for safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property.
After a break for dinner and further networking, the meeting continued with Roger Keller from Silverfort presenting "So You Think You Have Solid Identity Protection? Think Again!" He critically examined the perceived robustness and maturity of identity protection measures such as Multifactor Authentication (MFA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
The event concluded with a raffle drawing and closing remarks. The raffle winners were Lisa Richards, Tamara Shoemaker, Cherice Caldwell, Sergio Patino, Dan Shoemaker, Sheresse Thomas, Lewis Gardella, Annie McGuire, Andy Putvin, and Phillip Voldahl. The hybrid format of the meeting enabled participation both in-person and virtually.
