Meeting Highlights:

  1. Registration & Networking (4:30 pm - 4:45 pm):

    • The meeting commenced with attendees registering their presence and engaging in initial networking, setting a collaborative tone for the event.

  2. Topic #1 - "Lessons Learned from a Policy Stack Transformation" by Steven F. Fox (4:45 pm - 5:45 pm):

    • Mr. Fox, Deputy CISO for the State of Washington, led an engaging session on the intricacies of security policy transformations, detailing the journey through various challenges and strategies in updating an obsolete policy stack.
    • Key learning points included identifying suitable industry frameworks for policy development, structuring effective policy review working groups, coordinating thorough document vetting, and leveraging the policy stack to instill a risk-aware culture within organizations.

  3. Dinner/Networking (5:45 pm - 6:30 pm):

    • Attendees enjoyed a dinner break, allowing for casual discussions and stronger network building among professionals.

  4. Topic #2 - "Small Businesses Need Security Leaders, Too" by Earl Duby (6:30 pm - 7:30 pm):
