Members’ Half Day Talk on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cybersecurity (Virtual)

When:  May 30, 2024 from 13:30 to 19:00 (SGT)
Associated with  Malaysia Chapter

Dear Members,

ISACA Malaysia would like to invite you to an upcoming half-day talk event titled “Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cybersecurity”. Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Cybersecurity refers to the application of AI techniques and technologies to enhance the security posture of organizations and systems against cyber threats. This talk is designed to delve into the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, offering insights into how AI is shaping the landscape of security practices. This half day session will be conducted in interactive discussions and demonstrations to engage participants with real-world examples and hands-on activities to enhance  comprehension and practical knowledge.

Here's a brief overview of the agenda:

  1. AI Algorithms Overview:
  • Definition and Types: Discussion on how AI algorithms such as neural networks, decision trees, and clustering process data and make decisions.
  • Machine Learning: Explanation of machine learning as a dynamic aspect of AI that improves algorithm performance through training, without explicit programming.

 2.Vulnerabilities in AI:

  • Adversarial Attacks: Exploration of how AI systems are susceptible to manipulations, focusing on adversarial attacks that exploit algorithmic weaknesses.
  • Common Vulnerabilities: Detailed look at data poisoning, which compromises model integrity, and evasion attacks that trick the model by altering input data.
  1. Offensive Security Techniques:
  • Adversarial Machine Learning: Creating adversarial examples to test and improve AI robustness by inducing algorithm errors.
  • Simulation of Attacks: Using simulated attacks to identify and address potential threats, thereby strengthening AI systems against real-world exploits.
  1. Purpose and Application:
  • Security Goals: The aim is to preemptively identify and mitigate AI vulnerabilities to prevent exploitation by attackers.
  • Critical Applications: Importance of offensive security in sectors reliant on AI decisions, such as autonomous driving, financial services, and healthcare.
