Welcome to the ISACA San Antonio/South Texas Chapter

March Luncheon Cancelled

Dear San Antonio/South Texas ISACA Member,

The ISACA San Antonio/South Texas Chapter Officers have been monitoring the developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) within the community. Based on the recent announcements by organizations around our community to currently suspend travel and attendance of training events, we have made the decision to cancel the March lunch meeting, originally scheduled for Monday March 17, 2020.   We will work with this speaker to reschedule this very hot topic at one of our fall lunch meetings.

Additionally the Officers have decided to not plan or schedule any meetings or training events in April and will not hold our Annual General meeting in May where new officers are typically announced.  As in the past, nominations and elections will be handled electronically and we encourage each of you to volunteer to support the chapter and vote when the ballot is presented.  The elected officers will be announced via electronic communications and on the chapter web-site.

The Officers know that it is difficult to reschedule and alter plans, but our top priority is the health and well-being of all our members and community. We thank you for your understanding and continued support.

ISACA San Antonio/South Texas Chapter Officers

Let me be the first to welcome you to our local chapter where we value your participation and support. Without you this chapter would not exist. I am extremely pleased to serve you as your president for the 2019/2020 term. I would also like to take a moment to thank our Board of Directors this year for taking time our of their busy schedules to help coordinate our future efforts this term.

Our goal and focus this year is to continue to promote the professional development of our members and guests by:

  • Providing quality and low-cost educational training in the areas of IT audit, security, governance, and risk.
  • Facilitating and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and resources between members and guests through networking opportunities.
  • Supporting and helping individuals achieve and attain professional certifications offered by ISACA by extending course review classes and other available resources.
  • Helping reach out to our local universities to help inspire the next generations.

The chapter's luncheons will resume September 2019 and we look forward to meeting you all. Please feel free to reach out to myself (Erica.Smith4@wellsfargo.com) or our Board of Directors with any questions, comments or concerns. We also value your feedback as we as a chapter are always looking for ways to continuously improve and strive for excellence.

Additionally, please continue to visit our website which was developed to help facilitate the achievement of our goals, provide you with timely information about upcoming events and provide helpful resources.

In closing, thank you for giving me this opportunity to be your President this term and I look forward to having a great and successful year with all of you!

Kind Regards,

Erica Smith
