ISACA Wellington Chapter Event Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to ISACA Wellington Chapter membership-related activities, events, training and other services provided by the ISACA Wellington Chapter.

Pricing

Unless otherwise stated, prices for ISACA Wellington Chapter events and services are quoted in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and include GST.

Where payment is made through a third-party payment provider, additional payment processing or transaction fees may apply. Any applicable fees will be disclosed during the registration or payment process.

International participants are responsible for any additional fees or charges imposed by their bank, card issuer or payment provider.

Event Overview and Refund Policy

By registering for an ISACA Wellington Chapter event, you acknowledge and agree to the following Event Overview and Refund Policy.

Event Communications and Information

By registering for an event, you consent to receiving communications necessary for the administration and delivery of that event.

These may include information relating to:

  • registration and attendance;
  • event programme or schedule changes;
  • venue or online access information;
  • Continuing Professional Education (CPE);
  • related ISACA Wellington activities; and
  • post-event information or feedback.

Where an event is delivered jointly with another organisation, your registration information may be shared with the co-host or event delivery partner where reasonably necessary to administer and deliver the event.

In-Person Registration and Attendance

We recommend registering early, as in-person places may be limited.

All dietary requirements must be provided before the published registration closing date. ISACA Wellington cannot guarantee that dietary requirements received after registrations close or on the day of the event can be accommodated.

If you are unable to attend, you must notify ISACA Wellington or the nominated event organiser in writing before the registration closing date.

Failure to cancel before registrations close may result in you remaining liable for the full registration fee. This applies to both in-person and online registrations.

Where payment by invoice is available, registration constitutes an obligation to pay the invoice in accordance with its payment terms and, unless otherwise agreed, before the event takes place.

Transferring Your Registration

If you are unable to attend an event, you may nominate another person to attend in your place, provided that:

  • the substitute meets any applicable entry or eligibility requirements;
  • ISACA Wellington or the event organiser is notified before registrations close; and
  • any difference in registration fee is paid before the event.

For example, if an ISACA member transfers their registration to a person who is not entitled to the ISACA member rate, the difference between the member and non-member registration fee must be paid.

Minimum Participant Numbers

ISACA Wellington events and training may be subject to minimum participant numbers.

If minimum numbers are not achieved and an event cannot proceed, registered attendees will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.

Where ISACA Wellington cancels an event, its liability is limited to refunding the registration fee paid.

ISACA Wellington is not responsible for other costs incurred by attendees, including travel, accommodation or other incidental expenses.

ISACA Wellington accepts no liability where an event is cancelled, postponed or materially affected by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Online and Hybrid Attendance

For online or hybrid events, successfully registered online participants will be provided with access details for the event.

Where the registration fee is the same for online and in-person attendance, this reflects the additional technology, audio-visual and video-conferencing resources required to deliver a hybrid event.

Online attendees are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate internet connectivity, equipment and software to participate.

ISACA Wellington cannot guarantee uninterrupted access where technical issues arise outside its reasonable control.

Photography and Recording

ISACA Wellington events may be photographed or recorded.

Photographs, video or other recordings may be used for legitimate Chapter purposes, including reporting on Chapter activities and promoting future ISACA Wellington events.

Where an event is being formally recorded, attendees will be advised where reasonably practicable.

Participants should be aware that their name, image, voice, comments or contributions may be captured during an event, particularly where they actively participate in a presentation, discussion or question-and-answer session.

If you have concerns about photography or recording at an event, please contact the event organiser.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

Where an event is eligible for CPE:

1 CPE hour = 1 hour of eligible professional education, subject to applicable ISACA CPE requirements.

CPE will only be awarded to individuals who have registered for and attended the eligible event or session.

Online participants must attend the required duration of the eligible session to qualify for CPE.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that any CPE claimed meets the requirements applicable to their ISACA certification or other professional designation.

Where applicable, evidence of attendance or a CPE certificate may be provided following the event. For events solely managed by ISACA Wellington, CPE will be uploaded to the ISACA Member Portal. This may take up to 21 days from the day of the event.

Some events or portions of events may not qualify for CPE. Any specific CPE eligibility will be stated in the event information where known.

Refund Policy

Full Refund

A full refund of the registration fee will be available where a cancellation request is received in writing before the published registration closing date or before the event sells out, whichever occurs first.

No Refund After Registrations Close

Once registrations have closed or an event has sold out, refunds will not normally be provided.

This reflects commitments made by ISACA Wellington to venues, caterers, speakers, suppliers and other event providers based on confirmed attendee numbers.

No refund or credit will be provided for non-attendance.

Where permitted, you may transfer your registration to another eligible attendee in accordance with the transfer conditions above.

Event Cancellation

If ISACA Wellington cancels an event, registered participants will receive a full refund of the registration fee paid.

ISACA Wellington's liability is limited to the registration fee and does not extend to travel, accommodation or other costs incurred in connection with attending the event.

Event Postponement

If an event is postponed, registrations will normally be transferred to the rescheduled event.

If a participant is unable to attend the rescheduled date, ISACA Wellington will provide information about the applicable refund or alternative arrangements.

Processing Refunds

All refund requests must be made in writing.

Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method and returned to the individual or organisation that made the original payment.

Where payment was made by credit card, the refund will normally be returned to the same card.

If this is not possible, an alternative refund method may be arranged following appropriate verification.

Where an organisation paid an invoice on behalf of an attendee, any refund will be made to that organisation rather than directly to the attendee.

Any unavoidable international bank or transaction fees associated with processing a refund may be deducted from the amount refunded.

No credits are implied or automatically created as a result of cancellation or non-attendance.

Overpayments

If an accidental overpayment is made, ISACA Wellington will arrange a refund once the overpayment has been identified and verified.

The payer should notify ISACA Wellington of an overpayment within three months of the payment date.

Co-Hosted and Third-Party Events

Where an event is co-hosted with another professional body or organisation, the registration and refund terms identified on the event registration page will apply.

Where registrations and payments are administered by a co-host or third-party organisation, that organisation's applicable terms, conditions and refund processes may apply.

ISACA Wellington is not responsible for registration fees, refunds or other costs relating to events organised independently by ISACA Global, another ISACA Chapter or another third-party organisation.

Privacy

ISACA Wellington collects and uses personal information for purposes including membership administration, event delivery, professional development, Chapter governance and communications.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and relevant ISACA policies.

Where reasonably necessary to deliver an event or Chapter service, information may be provided to co-hosts, venues, technology providers, event administrators or other service providers.

ISACA Wellington will not disclose personal information to event sponsors or other third parties for unrelated marketing purposes unless this has been clearly communicated and an appropriate basis for doing so exists.

Changes to Events

ISACA Wellington reserves the right to make reasonable changes to an event, including changes to:

  • speakers;
  • programme content;
  • session times;
  • venue;
  • delivery format; or
  • other event arrangements.

Where a material change occurs, registered participants will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable.

Further Information and Questions

Questions relating to membership, events, cancellations, refunds or these Terms and Conditions should be directed to the ISACA Wellington Chapter through the contact details published on the Chapter website.

These Terms and Conditions should be read alongside the ISACA Wellington Chapter Constitution, Bylaws, applicable ISACA Global policies and any specific terms published for an individual event.
