Fraud is an ever-present concern within every sector of the economy and its impact is felt from your company's bottom line to the everyday individual. During this event we will discuss prominent Fraud activites and ways to prevent, detect and correct these activities.
Dan is currently the Senior Director of Corporate and Financial Investigations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Dan leads a department of 36 employees consisting of investigators, analysts, hotline specialists, and advanced analytics team investigating FWA allegations. Dan was hired as an investigator for Blue Cross in 2011, was promoted to Manager in 2013 and Director in 2016.
Prior to joining Blue Cross, Dan retired from the Taylor Police Department as a Commander with over 23 years of service. During his career, Dan worked primarily in the Detective Bureau handling a variety of criminal case assignments. He was also assigned to the Michigan State Police, Downriver Area Narcotics Organization as an undercover narcotics officer for 2 years.
Dan graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is an Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator with the National Heath Care Anti-Fraud Association, a certified fraud examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a member of the Blues National Anti-Fraud Advisory Board.
