We are the Winchester UK Chapter of ISACA (formerly the Information Systems Audit and Control Association), an international body that has been in existence since 1969. ISACA Winchester Chapter was established in 2009. Other UK Chapters include London, Northern England, Central England, Scotland, and the Ireland Chapter (which covers both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland).
ISACA Winchester Chapter has over 300 members who come from a wide cross-section of business including the accountancy and information systems professions, central and local government, the banking, manufacturing and service sectors and academia across the south of the United Kingdom and beyond.
ISACA is the voice of the Information Systems Audit, IT Governance, Risk Management and Cyber Security professions. For nearly 50 years, ISACA has helped enterprises develop strong IT workforces by inspiring and equipping individuals to be more capable, valuable and successful in the fast-changing world of Information Technology and Business. By offering industry-leading knowledge, standards, credentialing and education, ISACA enables professionals to apply technology in ways that instil confidence, address threats, drive innovation and create positive momentum for their organizations. ISACA is the creator of the COBIT framework, which helps organizations effectively govern and manage their information and technology. Through its Cyber Security Nexus (CSX), ISACA helps organizations develop skilled cyber workforces and enables individuals to grow and advance their cyber security careers.
Our Chapter goals and objectives are to promote ISACA’s standing in the Business and IT community, increase the Chapter membership and support existing members through maintaining certifications and knowledge.
ISACA Winchester Chapter's focus is to:
- Promote the education of, and help expand the knowledge and skills of members in the inter-related fields of Auditing, Quality Assurance, Information Security and IT Governance;
- Encourage a free exchange of IT Governance, Quality Assurance, and Information Security techniques, approaches and problem solving by members;
- Promote adequate communication to keep members abreast of current events in IT Governance, Quality Assurance, and Information Security fields that can be of benefit to them and their employers;
- Communicate to Management, Auditors, Universities and Information Security professionals the importance of establishing controls necessary to ensure the effective organisation and utilisation of data processing resources.
ISACA Winchester Chapter holds regular conferences to help the community progress.
