October 21-22 Auditing Business Application Systems seminar

The Chicago Chapter Fall Seminar, Auditing Business Application Systems, on October 21-22, 2019 provided by MIS Training Institute was very successful. The instructor, Tom Salzman, did a terrific job keeping the attention and involvement by all the attendees through his enthusiastic training style. Tom presented real world examples of risk based auditing of business applications and then tied them back to the handout guidelines, checklists and audit programs provided throughout the two day seminar.

16 CPEs were earned by attendees.

Below are a couple of pictures from the seminar.

"Our GirlCon 2019 organizing team and volunteer committee was blown away by the enthusiasm and passion in attendees seen through their thoughtful questions directed towards breakout session leaders, their innate ability to network with professionals, and their energy in developing these connections into mentor-student relationships post-conference. We were thrilled to see our work of 6 months come to life before the eyes of 250 attendees and only hope that they will always remember to raise their hands, be brave not perfect, and take hold of every opportunity to make a significant impact on the world using technology. For more information for future programming, keep in touch at www.girlconchicago.com or @GirlConChicago on Instagram! We can't wait to see what our attendees do next!"

May 30th, 2019- ISACA Chicago event sponsored by BDO USA LLP

An amazing ISACA Chicago Monthly Meeting on May 30th 2019 was hosted by BDO USA LLP and held at 330 North Wabash, Chicago.  The topic was ‘Evolving Role of AI / Robotics / Data Analytics in Audit’. There were insightful, entertaining and interactive presentations made by Kirstie Tiernan, MD, BDO USA LLP and Anamika Roy, IT Audit Manager and attended by our peers in the IT and IS / Audit functions within ISACA community.

The two sessions were followed by interesting discussion around the topics presented.
“You need to be able to convert data into actionable insights. To be able to do this, you need to integrate data analytics into the audit methodology with the help of the right tools and skillsets. It’s not about the data that you have, it’s about the data you want. And that is the reason Data Analytics has to be fully integrated into the audit methodology to be really TRANSFORMATIVE.”- Anamika Roy.

ISACA Chicago Chapter thanks BDO for sponsoring and hosting the event.

It was a great opportunity to learn and network!
