You are invited to the ISACA Chicago Chapter Meeting - April 2023
Topic: API Governance, Risk and Controls
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) have been used for years; however, they are emerging as integral components in digitizing platforms and enabling B2B transactions. Given the potential criticality, sensitive information, and historically ad-hoc nature of governance, APIs have proven that applying traditional approaches to governance, risk, and controls is ineffective to manage risks introduced by APIs.
In this session, we will talk through:
- Ø What is an API?
- Ø How are they typically used?
- Ø What are the types of APIs?
- Ø The Cyber, IT, Privacy, and Resiliency risks
- Ø Leading practices to govern, assess, treat, and monitor those risks.
Our guest speakers will be:
Gabriella Mhanna is a Principal/Partner at EY who has worked across IT, Cyber, Third Party, and Privacy risks within the Financial Services Sector. Gabriella has over 14 years of experience serving banks and insurance companies navigate the risk agenda and the ever-changing regulatory environment.
